The most common treatment used to straighten teeth or correct a bad bite is braces. Braces can be prescribed for anyone who has permanent teeth and can be used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances.
There are 2 main types of braces: fixed and removable.
Fixed braces must be worn at all times and can only be removed by an orthodontist.
Ceramic braces are made from porcelain. They are less noticeable than traditional braces but they are also more expensive and prone to damage.
These braces are fitted behind the teeth and are not easily visible.
Removable braces require a strict regimen to work effectively. They are prescribed when teeth need be moved horizontally.
