How Do Braces Work?

Metal braces are made from high-grade stainless steel wires, brackets and elastics that gradually move the teeth into the desired position. In general, braces are worn anywhere from 12-24 months, depending on the specific condition being treated. The initial placement of braces on the teeth is a painless process. Every 6-8 weeks, patients will come in for a quick adjustment appointment, which usually takes 15-30 minutes. Once your teeth have shifted into the correct position, braces will be removed to reveal your beautiful, brand new smile!
